Try playing chess without a chess board or telling someone
how to drive through Boston without a map. Learning biblical history
without the
land of the Bible is just as difficult. First
things first - Regional diversity abounds in the land of the Bible.
Learning this 'playing board' of biblical history is the first step
in our study. Maps show actual 3-D terrain. You see natural difficulties
to avoid, routes through these difficulties and strategic positions
along these routes. The land becomes a real world in which you can place
biblical events. New
perspectives - As students explore this land of the Bible events
jump to life. Strategic decisions by leaders such as Saul, David and
Hezekiah become obvious against the background of economic, political
and military developments on the actual terrain. Survival in this threatened
land makes the message of patriarchs, prophets and apostles more potent. The
land on your desktop - The land of the Bible along the eastern
Mediterranean Sea, was the geographical context for most biblical
events. Biblical Backgrounds' maps and other study materials
bring the land to your fingertips. Rather than simply a 'collection
of verses' the Bible proclaims a faith understood against the
backdrop of a real world.

etc.). Their carefully shaded relief allows
the student to work out biblical events on an accurate presentation
of the country's terrain. The seven maps are—
